Clare’s DIY Teepee Instructions

So often, riding my bike, a chicken, the same chicken? Crosses the road in front of me.  And I say, “Seriously! Why, chicken, why? Why did the chicken cross the road?” He only keeps taking his time and strutting his big walk with chest held cocky-high.

Tangerine Truffles

“Will you watch my bags for a minute, please?” I ask an acquaintance. One of my, and many people in Vilca, typical requests in town. It gets hard to carry all your stuff around from store to store. Sometimes, lately I ask, “And what will you do if someone tries to take them?” just to be funny. Here are some of the responses,
“I will scream, ‘Dorothy!”
“I will say, “Hey, don’t do that! Then run after them, tackle them in the knees and get your stuff back!”
“Okay, sold!” I said, laughing.

  1. Soak the raisins ten minutes.
  2. Then grind in a food processor with the tangerine rinds, coconut and coriander, adding a little of the soak water at a time to create a stiff dough.

Word of the Day – bolsa – bag

Tip of the Day – In a tourist town, you gotta keep your bags close to you at all times,   no matter how safe you feel.
