My name is Dorothy Delaney and this is my blog about food, recipes, being a North American in Ecuador, relationships, language barriers, more food, and the joys and pitfalls of every day life as a transplant to South America ! I’m really excited to share everything I learn with you . I’m mainly a plant-based girl (not strictly) who is lactose intolerant, doesn’t like judge-y people or clingy men, and LOVES chocolate. I’m always on the lookout for a great recipe. So, whether it’s foraging for my own ingredients, growing new things in my garden, or just trying to find the perfect bite of food, I’m your girl.
Did I mention that I’m in freaking Ecuador?! Incredible! I moved to Vilcabamba, a small town in the mountains of Ecuador, and have been trying to learn Spanish, build a house, and learn to cook in an Horno (outdoor adobe oven). Right now I’m teaching a lot of Chi Kung and Hatha Yoga, and helping a couple of Vilca clients with their health protocol, making them their medicinal teas, juices and other drinks, soups and salads. I’ll try to keep you apprised of all my successes and failures, gripes and praises as I learn to be present and above all…
Wanna’ write? Send me ideas or recipes? I’m here! lol. I live in Vilcabamba, Loja, Ecuador. If you’d like to send me letters and such, I would LOVE that. I cannot wait to hear from you! Please, feel free to send me anything, anytime! My address is:
