Yam Fries

This was our bit of a mess for two days, the landslide covering and breaking the water tube to my house, twice in a row! And the third day, another little mountain of dirt laying heavily on it. Luckily the owner of the road got his workers out fast and it’s free now and the guests have more water again!

Recipe of the Day – Yam Fries


These are raw yam or sweet potato “fries,” not fried!

1 large yam
1 T. olive oil
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. garam masala (or use cinnamon and black pepper)

Directions: Peel and slice a large yam. Cut into fry shapes, but twice as thick as regular skinny fries. Put in a bag with the seasonings and oil, and shake wildly. Dehydrate for 4-5 hours at 104 degrees.
