Herbal Hair Rinse

I feel like my hair’s too red. Especially when I step out into the sun. Which is always here at the Equator, ha ha! I want to make it darker. So I’m trying the sage rinse, and perhaps we’ll see a difference over time!

Recipe of the Day – Dark Sage + Black Tea Hair Rinse

to make your hair darker:

1 T. sage

1 black tea bag

1 c water

Pour hot water over tea and sage and let steep for 15 minutes.  Strain, and pour this liquid through your hair after shampooing as a final rinse.  I applied a little of the infusion directly to my roots, and then poured the rest through my hair. Rinse to avoid stains from the tea. Use every time you wash to see it gradually darken. Keep this infusion in the fridge, and use within 2-3 days, which means you’ll have to think of making it the days you wash your hair.

Word of the Day – te-tea
Tip of the Day – Herbal products are so fun to make, but you do have to think ahead constantly. I have herbs hanging in my house for 3 different uses right now, and some in the garden for fresh teas! But if you forget, you can get wonderful fresh mixtures of herbs and flowers at the Sunday market, from the equally beautiful Ecuadorian women!
