Ginger Chocolate Smoothie

Wow, I seem to be facing depression every day lately, what!

Yeah, this depression definitely has nothing to do with anyone else. Every day I wake up this way. Only meditation relieves it entirely, but then it’s back again! My diet has been excellent, so it can’t be sugar or anything. I exercise a lot, with tai chi, yoga, walking Tiko and bike-ridng. Wow. Sorry I put it on a man-friend but at least we’re good friends in town, now, not enemies. Ram Dass was right – doesn’t matter if you’re in a relationship or not. You still gotta do the work. And don’t worry about me – I just don’t know where it’s coming from! The thought of  things ending rings true, the house complete, success in business. Chocolate smoothies help, and talking. Anyway, gonna go meditate and then take a nap.

Oh my gosh, this is so good! Why have I not been putting ginger in my chocolate smoothies all these years!


Recipe of the Day – Ginger Chocolate Smoothie


1 frozen banana

1 c. liquid – tea, almond or coconut milk

1/4 c. cacao powder

1/4 inch piece of ginger

2 drops liquid Stevia



Word of the Day  – jengibre – ginger

Tip of the Day – Talk, even though you don’t want to. Talk or write it out, get it out, and meditate. Ecuadorians are so fast at showing their feelings, I find, and wanting you to share yours. It’s only so frustrating when you don’t have the words!

  1. Thanks for sharing this yummy idea. I never thought to combine cocoa & ginger! About the depression, I’m sorry to hear that. It sounds like you’re doing all the ‘right’ things to take care of yourself and to minimize the effects. When depression is ongoing and the source is not obvious, ask a doc / med clinic to run a set of tests for blood pressure, iron, and thyroid, any of which can feel like depression. I discovered I had low iron, low blood pressure, and hypo(low)thyroid. I got the first two back on track just through better diet & exercise; I take a little booster for the hypothyroid.
