“Do you know where Michael lives?” I asked R, the taxi driver, long-time friend. We were just passing San Pedro, where he’d told me he lived once. “I can take four guys and demand to know where my windows and doors are.” “No, just me will be fine,” he said. “And Tiko.” And we both laughed.
Yeah. First Wilson confronted him 2 weeks ago. Then he said he would come to my house to talk and apologize and never did. Then Jose a week ago talked to him, same thing. Then yesterday Roberto and I and Tiko went to his house on the way back from the airport. He said he’d come by today and ask Jose if he wanted him to wait til the house was done. I said, “Come on, MIchael. It’s been Mayo, Junio, Julio, Agosto, y ahora…Septiembre!” I said, as I counted off the months. All his neighbors had now come out of their houses to listen. He pointed inside and said they were in his house. I was too nauseous, weak and emotional from kids’ leaving, to go check. I will bet he won’t show up today. But he’d tell me the windows were done. Wilson says he’s just super irresponsible. Yet his other work he did for was gorgeous! It’s very confusing.
Okay, not all lies. He did show up. No doors or windows, just talk. Then he asked for $100. Wow. After he has 2/3 of the money for all the windows, doors, 2 sofas, a coffee table, a mat for the cacoons, a repairing of a wooden table. Yeah. None of that’s gonna happen. I’m not paying him a cent more. I paid him four months ago!!!! Wow. He said he would come the 19th. I’m gonna call him tonight and remind him. I’ll tell you what happens when it does.
Recipe of the Day – M’s Great Crackers
Sprouted lentil crackers –
4 c. sprouted red lentils
1 c. Tahini or ground sesame seeds/water (roasted tahini is very good though)
1 T. ground flax
Juice 1 lemon
A little low sodium soy sauce
Combine all ingredients in a food processor and spread on paper-lined dehydrator sheets. Bake at 105 degrees for 4 hours, for bread , or 24 for crackers!
Word of the Day – mentiroso – liar
Tip of the Day – To sprout your lentils, soak them in water for one day, then let the water out and let them sprout for 1 1/2 days until you see the little sprouts. Sometimes, depending on where you get your lentils, some won’t sprout. But you can still use them.
