So…lingots. I’m doing DuoLingo Spanish now, online. It’s pretty fun! They keep it interesting. And if you set a goal and “challenge” you can earn double lingots. Which gives you games and stuff, woohoo. Yes, I am aware they’re getting you to learn more, but they really are. It’s a good program, and free, so you can’t beat that. It’s a mixture of reading, writing, listening and speaking. I know I sound like an advertisement, but it’s really great! I did the whole set of Pimseur Spanish, four times over, in Montana, before coming here. Which was a godsend. I appreciate every word I learned from them! They’re great. But now I’m ready for something different, and this is awesome.
1 c. pureed mango
1/4 c. apple cider vinegar
1/4 c. orange juice
Juice of 1 lemon
1/8 c. water
1/8 c. dried chipotle peppers,
1 tsp. paprika
2 drops Stevia or 1 T. liquid sweetener: honey, coconut crystals, if desired
Word of the Day – Español – Spanish
Tip of the Day – Practice your Spanish almost every day, with or without people, though with, is best. There are many people who have told me they just gave up after the first few months. But why give up? You can always keep learning. The Ecuadorians, when they see my frustration, say, “One word a day,” and, little by little,” and that would take the pressure off. Now they tell me people have been here ten years and haven’t learned a thing! Wow.
