Cherry Brownie Hearts

Remember the story with the bad words? ( See The Cherimoya Smoothie post)  Well, M from that story, and his brother came over to measure windows and doors. They brought me a gift! A beautiful heart-shaped wooden box they made themselves, gosh! And tomorrow they’re gonna take me to San Pedro to see a beautiful landscape with many animals. They’ve seen bears there! We’re going from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m; so I better bring some food and Tiko’s backpack (the one M made.) Tiko and I can’t wait. That’s so nice. I think they’re probably really grateful, these 21- and 23- year old brothers, to have someone believe in their work. Their furniture is beautiful!

Recipe of the Day – Cherry Heart Brownies

1/2 c. sprouted almonds
1/4 c. mesquite powder, or lucuma
3 T. cacao nibs
1/2 tsp. himalayan or sea salt
2 T. Coconut oil
1 pinch vanilla powder.
1 c. cherries

1/2 c. soaked dates (save the water to moisten the dough, if needed.)

Process the first four ingredients until mixture is crumbly. Add the coconut oil and vanilla and process again. Next, add the cherries and dates, and process again.Press into parchment-lined heart molds. Chill/Freeze for 10 minutes or more.
20 hearts: 40 calories per heart
